Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka is a program designed by the Minister of Education and Culture with the aim of encouraging students to be able to master various disciplines as preparation for entering the world of work. Quoted from the Kampus Merdeka page, it is stated that MBKM is an innovation created by the Ministry of Education and Culture and launched a policy to transform the higher education system in Indonesia to produce more relevant graduates. MBKM is implemented through 4 policy pillars: (1) Opening of new Study Programs, (2) Higher Education accreditation system, (3) Legal Entity Higher Education, and (4) The right to study outside the Study Program.
1. Kampus Mengajar
Kampus Mengajar is a self-development forum from the Ministry of Education, Indonesia for students. This activity provides an opportunity for students throughout Indonesia - who are under the auspices of the Ministry of Education - to study for one semester off campus. This aims to train problem solving skills, become a teacher partner in innovating learning, developing strategies and learning models that are creative, innovative and fun.
Kampus Mengajar activities will give students a lot of experience, especially how to explore various programs, innovate directly in the field, develop and implement learning strategies, and increase relationships between students from different campuses and teachers at placement locations. For those of you who are in semester 4 and above and have a GPA of 3.00, this is a program that you must try.
2. MSIB (Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat)
Certified Internship is an independent campus program hosted by the Ministry of Education, which collaborates with many partners throughout almost all of Indonesia. This activity aims to provide opportunities for students to learn and develop themselves through activities outside of lectures. In this program, students get the opportunity for 1-2 semesters to work in industry or the professional world.
This activity gives students the opportunity to gain hard-skills and soft-skills, with these two things, students can prepare well-prepared provisions to enter the world of work. Independent Study is a program that aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn and develop themselves outside the lecture classroom. This program was created for students who want to master specific and practical competencies sought by the industrial world.
For those of you who are in semester 4 and above for S1 and semester 2 and above for D2/D3/D4 level, this is a golden opportunity that you should not miss.
3. Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka
Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) is a student exchange activity that provides students throughout Indonesia with the opportunity to study or study at other campuses in Indonesia. This program provides great benefits, such as participants being able to explore and learn about the cultural diversity of the archipelago, make friends with students from various regions, and have the opportunity to study at other campuses in Indonesia.
You must try this if you are at least in semester 2 (two) at the time of the program and have a GPA of at least 2.8 on a scale of 4.
4. Wirausaha Merdeka
Wirausaha Merdeka is part of a program that provides students with the opportunity to learn and develop themselves into potential entrepreneurs through activities outside of lectures. Wirausaha Merdeka Program collaborates with Program Implementing Universities in developing entrepreneurial learning that is able to hone the entrepreneurial spirit, encourage increased entrepreneurial experience and increase students' employability.
The aim of this program is to ignite students' interest and enthusiasm in entrepreneurship. Instill a mindset and basic competencies in the field of entrepreneurship. Encouraging increased student entrepreneurial experience. Increasing student work abilities. Apart from that, it also helps increase the capacity and quality of university graduates.
5. IISMA (Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards)
Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) is a scholarship scheme by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia to fund Indonesian students for a one semester-mobility program at top universities and reputable industries overseas. Offering two schemes for undergraduate and vocational students, IISMA will expose Indonesian students to international academic and cultural diversity.
This program will Give students chance to gain knowledge and skills from world renowned universities in 30 countries. A great chance to learn to lecturers with good capability in their field of study. They also enhancing networks in international level through meeting local and international students, lecturers and society. Networks can be gained by involving in academic and non-academic activities in host universities.
Increasing students’ cross-cultural understanding through gaining experience in host countries. Students also can develop cross-cultural skills as they study and stay in the same class with locals. Additionally, They preparing qualified graduates with experience, knowledge and skills to gain future careers. Learning experience abroad can give more values as important part of students’ equipment for future workplace.
6. Praktisi Mengajar
Praktisi Mengajar is a collaborative space between practitioners as industry representatives and university lecturers in the form of teaching courses so that students are better prepared to enter the world of work.
In this program, courses are designed and managed jointly (collaboratively) between lecturers and practitioners, so that students can obtain holistic learning that connects theory with field practice and teachers to fully master competencies in accordance with Teacher Education Standards. Students are expected to be better prepared to enter the world of work, and become future leaders in various career choices according to their respective interests and potential, and teachers are expected to be able to answer various educational problems.
